Data acquisition system for fitness equipment

In the context of the latest technological evolution, Zautomation has designed a system to carry out “challenges” on fitness equipment.

The project was implemented for a large company in Milan, Italy.
For the “challenge mode” three magnetic treadmills treadmills were placed under a maxi screen, so that gym members could challenge each other and check their movements, distance and speed on the screen in real time.

We have designed the real-time software, as well as the HMI and electro-mechanical systems. Our project was based on a Beckhoff PLC and WPF software that coordinates video and images in real time.

We then applied our system to sport and fitness training, by developing a program on which is possible to set workout features based on the user’s needs. We also designed competitive “challenge mode” programs for treadmills, exercise bikes and weight lifting equipment.

Thanks to our custom solutions, fitness enthusiasts can reach their workout goals while having fun, channelling their strength in the most efficient way.
