Our many years of experience in developing highly customised RFID solutions have enabled us to design and implement an innovative pedestrian tracking system based on RFID technology for a major Italian company. designed to ensure accurate and constant monitoring of staff access within the offices located at the customer’s headquarters.
Each employee has been assigned a customised RFID badge, available in different forms—such as a necklace pendant, ergonomic wristband or compact wallet insert (RFID unshielded)—to suit individual preferences and operational requirements.
Thanks to our cutting-edge technology, in particular the latest generation of RFID readers capable of accurately identifying tags in any direction (360 degrees and in three dimensions), we have guaranteed our client company flawless tracking of incoming and outgoing access, with maximum freedom of use: employees can simply pass through the gates without having to take out their badges, which remain perfectly detectable even when stored in a bag, pocket or even inside a protective case (not RFID-shielded).
This solution has proven particularly advantageous not only for day-to-day staff management, but also for special events such as company conventions, industry trade fairs where customers are invited, or exclusive PR presentations for product launches, where it is essential to efficiently register guests’ movements without creating delays or inconvenience.
One of the main benefits of this technology was the definitive replacement of the old paper-based clocking system with a fully automated process that significantly reduced time and minimised manual operations. Our team of experts, working closely with the client, also integrated the RFID system with the management software already in use for attendance tracking, enabling real-time synchronisation of entry and exit times and thus simplifying the entire administrative procedure.
As it is a completely autonomous system, the most significant advantage lies in the elimination of errors linked to forgetfulness or failure to record manually, factors that often lead to data misalignments and consequent inefficiencies.
The RFID badges supplied were custom-made, taking into account each specific customer request. In addition to graphic customisation—with the printing of the company logo and, if requested, additional identifying elements—each device was configured to be associated with the employee’s personal and work data, thus ensuring detailed monitoring and real-time updates. Our range of badges also offers a high degree of customisation, both in terms of design and functionality, to suit any business need.
The implementation of the system also included the automation of doors equipped with electronic locks, which activate smoothly and securely when authorised users pass through. The detection distance, which can be precisely adjusted from 30 cm to a range of 10 metres, makes the solution extremely versatile and adaptable to different applications without requiring any physical contact with the badge.
An additional added value is represented by the automatic generation of analytical reports, which provide a complete overview of recorded accesses, ensuring not only constant control of access points, but also maximum security in case of emergencies, with the possibility of obtaining updated and reliable evacuation lists in a matter of seconds.
