{"id":6703,"date":"2026-02-10T12:52:56","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T10:52:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zautomation.it\/case-history-staff-access-control\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T12:52:57","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T10:52:57","slug":"case-history-staff-access-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zautomation.it\/en\/case-history-staff-access-control\/","title":{"rendered":"Case history: staff access control"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Our many years of experience in developing <strong>highly customised RFID solutions<\/strong> have enabled us to design and implement an innovative <strong>pedestrian tracking system<\/strong> based on RFID technology for a major Italian company.\u00a0designed to ensure accurate and constant monitoring of staff access within the offices located at the customer&#8217;s headquarters.<\/p>\n\n<p>Each employee has been assigned a <strong>customised RFID badge<\/strong>, available in different forms\u2014such as a necklace pendant, ergonomic wristband or compact wallet insert (RFID unshielded)\u2014to suit individual preferences and operational requirements.<\/p>\n\n<p>Thanks to our cutting-edge technology, in particular the latest generation of RFID readers capable of <strong>accurately identifying tags in any direction (360 degrees and in three dimensions)<\/strong>, we have <strong>guaranteed<\/strong> our client company <strong>flawless tracking<\/strong> of incoming and outgoing access, <strong>with maximum freedom of use<\/strong>: employees <strong>can simply pass<\/strong> through the gates <strong>without having to take out<\/strong> their badges, which remain perfectly detectable even when stored in a bag, pocket or even inside a protective case (not RFID-shielded).<\/p>\n\n<p>This solution has proven particularly advantageous not only for day-to-day staff management, but also for special events such as company conventions, industry trade fairs where customers are invited, or exclusive PR presentations for product launches, where it is essential to efficiently register guests&#8217; movements without creating delays or inconvenience.<\/p>\n\n<p>One of the main benefits of this technology was the <strong>definitive replacement<\/strong> of the <strong>old<\/strong> paper-based clocking system <strong>with a fully automated process<\/strong> that <strong>significantly reduced time<\/strong> and <strong>minimised manual operations<\/strong>. Our team of experts, working closely with the client, also <strong>integrated the RFID system with the management software already in use for attendance tracking<\/strong>, enabling real-time synchronisation of entry and exit times and thus simplifying the entire administrative procedure.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>As it is a completely autonomous system<\/strong>, the <strong>most significant advantage<\/strong> lies <strong>in the elimination<\/strong> of errors <strong>linked to forgetfulness<\/strong> or <strong>failure <\/strong>to <strong>record manually<\/strong>, <strong>factors that often<\/strong> lead to data <strong>misalignments and consequent inefficiencies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The RFID badges supplied were custom-made, taking into account each specific customer request.\u00a0In addition to graphic customisation\u2014with the printing of the company logo and, if requested, additional identifying elements\u2014each device was configured to be associated with the employee&#8217;s personal and work data, thus ensuring <strong>detailed monitoring and real-time updates<\/strong>.\u00a0Our range of badges also offers a high degree of customisation, both in terms of design and functionality, to suit any business need.<\/p>\n\n<p>The implementation of the system also included <strong>the automation of doors equipped with electronic locks<\/strong>, which activate smoothly and securely when authorised users pass through.\u00a0The detection distance, which can be precisely adjusted from 30 cm to a range of 10 metres, makes the solution extremely versatile and adaptable to different applications without requiring any physical contact with the badge.<\/p>\n\n<p>An additional added value is represented by <strong>the automatic generation<\/strong> of <strong>analytical<\/strong> reports, <strong>which provide a complete overview<\/strong> of <strong>recorded<\/strong> accesses, <strong>ensuring<\/strong> not only <strong>constant control<\/strong> of access points, but also <strong>maximum security<\/strong> <strong>in case of emergencies, with the possibility of obtaining updated and reliable<\/strong>
